Elaine Albrich appointed to Columbia Gorge Commission
Mel Omeg would often say “Know your soil.” He is an example of how I consider ranchers and orchardist located at the intersection of the human world and the environment. Gorge Commissioners are also at this intersection, but on a very large scale. Given this importance, I pushed the county commission to deepen the application process for gorge commissioner which allowed me to considered the appointment of Elaine Albrich more thoroughly. Although Mike Ballinger was my first choice, I agreed with the other commissioners to appoint Ms. Albrich.

Elaine is moving from Portland to Dufur and I encourage everyone to welcome her and engage with her so she can better understand our love for the Gorge and our desires for our communities.
Sports Complex
Wasco County Commissioners are the initial stage of considering developing a sports complex. As a first step, we contracted with Hunden Strategic Partners to assess a large number of factors related to the feasibility of the project. The report does not attempt to propose a design nor cost.
The Columbia Gorge Healthy Community partnership has build a dashboard of useful health statistics.
